Rumi

“Be a lamp, a lifeboat, a ladder, help someone’s soul heal. Walk out of your house like a shepherd”

Here at The Green Village, we see the value in everyone. We are raising funds and promoting initiatives to serve the people who need them most. We believe in taking action with the urgency to raise public awareness about some of the most pressing issues facing Afghanistan today. We want to be a catalyst for positive change, and since our beginnings in 2020, we have been driven by the same ideas we initially founded our charity upon; support, empowerment, and progress.

The name of the charity represents the village that the founders are from, 'Sabzi Khel', which translates to 'Green Village'. It is a lush green area with the best mulberry in the country. It is located in the region of Parvān in Afghanistan - some 43 miles (or 69 km) north of Kabul, the country's capital city.

Origin of the name - The Green Village

Founded by six siblings, The Green Village is our way of staying grounded and not forgetting where we came from. By helping others, we hope to give back a little and appreciate what we take for granted here in the UK.

We aim to connect people around the world in the fight to end poverty and support all disabilities. Working together, we invest in the lives of those who need it most and support to build the healthy environments they need to thrive and empower them to create lasting change in their own lives and communities.

We envision an Afghanistan where all people, regardless of their ethnic background, sex or religion, across the country – have the best opportunity to create a better life for themselves and others around them.
